

The aim of the nextstep service is to help adults (aged 20+) find work and access courses to help them on their career path. nextstep is, in other words, a careers service for adults.
In Leicester and Leicestershire, this service is delivered through a range of organisations, providing wide geographic cover. It primarily targets those who have achieved no or low qualifications, or who have a range of barriers to gaining employment, but nextstep LeicesterShire is able to offer some level of support to everyone free of charge.
This help can be offered to people in employment as well as to those who are unemployed. However, depending on individual circumstances, some services will be charged to those in employment. The full list of delivery locations can be found here.
nextstep also manages an information line, which can be accessed on 0800 0850 330. Advisers will be able to offer help over the phone, or advise of the nearest nextstep location for face-to-face support.

nextstep LeicesterShire is primarily funded through the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). It also delivers projects sourced through the European Social Fund, Leicester Shire Economic Partnership, emda and Leicester City Council.
